The thing with motivation is that it comes and goes, it's unreliable. For certain things in life, you can´t just wait for motivation to hit you, you´ll have to take action. Time waits for no one. Which is where discipline comes in. Anyone can become disciplined with enough training.

I think it was in Atomic Habits, or perhaps some other book that I read that motivation comes AFTER you've started. That's why it's best to just push yourself to do the smallest possible thing that will get you started doing something (eg: wear shoes ---> run).
